Tonavo
Portable fire alarm inspection, decoded at the panel.
Tonavo is the official product name for our portable Contact ID inspection platform. It is being built to let inspection professionals capture, decode and record what an alarm panel actually reports during testing, without a laptop tethered to the panel.
Tonavo is a proprietary fire alarm inspection technology platform under development by Yalez Technologies LLC.

- Dual-line Contact ID receiver
- ESP32 embedded platform
- Real-time event decoding
- Inspection records and reporting
Product overview
One portable instrument for the inspection record
Tonavo pairs a portable two-line Contact ID receiver with ESP32-based embedded decoding and a planned software layer for records, review and reporting. The goal is a single trail of what the panel reported during a test, kept with the inspection it belongs to.
Hardware platform
Portable receiver and embedded decoding, intended for field use by inspection technicians.
- In development
Dual-line Contact ID receiver
A portable receiver designed to observe Contact ID traffic on alarm panel telephone lines, so events from both lines can be captured during a single visit.
- In development
ESP32-based embedded technology
An on-board ESP32 microcontroller handles event decoding and local buffering, so the unit does not depend on a laptop connected to the panel.
- In development
Real-time event decoding
Contact ID transmissions are interpreted as they arrive, resolving account, event qualifier, event code, partition and zone.
- Planned
Portable field enclosure
Housing, power and handling planned for technicians moving between panels, floors and sites during a day of inspections.
Software layer
Planned dashboard, mobile companion and reporting built around the inspection record.
- Planned
Web dashboard
A planned browser workspace for inspection history, panel and account records, and review of captured events after the visit.
- Planned
Mobile application
A planned companion app for field capture and on-site review while the inspection is still in progress.
- Planned
Inspection records
Structured records tied to the account and panel an inspection belongs to, holding the decoded event trail alongside technician notes.
- Planned
Reporting
Planned inspection reports assembled from captured events and technician notes, ready to hand to the customer.
Intended signal path
From panel transmission to inspection report
The sequence below describes how Tonavo is being designed to work. It is a planned workflow, not a released process.
- 1
Panel reports an event
An initiating condition is transmitted over the alarm panel telephone line as a Contact ID message.
- 2
Tonavo captures the transmission
The portable dual-line receiver observes the message as it is sent, without taking the line away from the panel.
- 3
ESP32 decodes the message
Account number, event qualifier, event code, partition and zone are resolved on the device.
- 4
Record is built for the inspection
Decoded events join the inspection record for that account and panel, next to the technician notes.
- 5
Review and report
Findings are reviewed in the planned dashboard or mobile app and assembled into an inspection report.
How it will help
Built around how inspections are actually performed
Fire alarm inspection and testing work produces a lot of detail in a short window. Tonavo is being designed to capture that detail as it happens and keep it attached to the right panel.
Capture what the panel reported
Instead of hand-writing events as they appear, the technician works from the decoded event trail the panel produced during the test.
Keep the record with the panel
Each record stays tied to the account, panel and site it came from, so history is not scattered across notebooks, photos and memory.
Review before leaving the site
Decoded events can be reviewed while the technician is still on location, while conditions and test steps are still fresh.
Hand over a consistent report
Findings and notes are intended to leave in one consistent format across technicians and across visits.
Scope of the product
Tonavo is an inspection and testing tool. It is not a replacement for approved permanent alarm monitoring or supervising-station equipment.
